Senior judgment, a few days a month.

Not every company needs a full-time CTO, but every company building software needs someone who has seen this before. We review, decide, mentor and, when needed, roll up our sleeves.

Technical Leadership

Bad technical decisions are cheap to make and expensive to undo. A framework chosen because it was trending, a vendor picked without a migration path, a team hired before the architecture existed. Most of these are avoidable with a few hours of experienced attention at the right moment.

Ion Anghel, our founder, spent seven years at Ubisoft as Software Architect and Engineering Manager and twenty years in software overall. Technical leadership engagements put that experience at your disposal on a fractional basis: a fixed number of days per month, clear responsibilities, and outcomes you can measure.

01 — What we do

The decisions, not just the opinions.

Fractional CTO

Own the technical roadmap, vendor and architecture decisions, and the engineering process, for a fixed number of days per month. Report to founders or the board.

Architecture reviews

A structured review of a system or a proposal: what will break at 10x, what is over-engineered, what to change now and what can wait. Written, prioritised, actionable.

Code and infrastructure audits

Reading the code, the pipelines and the cloud accounts before you buy, invest or scale. Security, maintainability, cost and bus factor, with evidence.

Technical due diligence

For investors and acquirers: an honest picture of what the technology is worth, what it would cost to fix, and what the team can realistically deliver.

Hiring and team design

Role definitions, interview loops, take-home tasks that respect candidates, and help evaluating senior hires. Including how AI tooling changes what to hire for.

Mentoring and engineering practice

Code review culture, incident practice, testing strategy, AI-assisted development done responsibly. Working alongside your engineers, not lecturing them.

02 — Deliverables

What you get

  • A written review or audit with prioritised findings and effort estimates
  • A technical roadmap tied to business milestones, revisited every month
  • Decision records for the choices that matter, so nobody re-litigates them
  • Hiring materials and interview support for the roles you need next
  • Regular time with your engineers, with visible improvement in how they ship
03 — Good fit

This is for you if

  • You are a founder without a technical co-founder and need someone to trust on the decisions
  • Your team ships, but slower every quarter, and nobody can say exactly why
  • You are about to invest in, acquire or scale a product and want to know what you are buying
04 — Process

How an engagement runs

You get a senior engineer who delivers like a small team — with a transparent hourly rate, weekly reporting, and no agency overhead. Scale hours up or down as the project needs.

  1. 01Intake — a few conversations and read-only access to code, infrastructure and the backlog.
  2. 02Baseline — a written assessment within two to three weeks: where you are, what matters, what to do first.
  3. 03Cadence — fixed days per month for reviews, decisions, mentoring and unblocking, with a short monthly report.
  4. 04Exit — when you hire a full-time leader, we help find them and hand over a documented system.
05 — FAQ

Questions we hear before every engagement

How many days a month does it take?

Most fractional CTO engagements run at two to six days per month. Reviews and audits are scoped projects of one to three weeks. Due diligence is usually a fixed one-week package.

Will you also write code?

When it is the fastest way to unblock the team, yes. But the role is leadership: decisions, reviews and mentoring. If you need hands-on building, our development services are the better fit, and they combine well.

What do we get in writing?

Every review or audit ends with a written document: findings ranked by impact, effort estimates, and a recommended order. Ongoing engagements produce decision records and a short monthly report.

Can you help us hire a full-time CTO?

Yes. Defining the role, screening, interviewing and onboarding the person who replaces us is a normal end to a fractional engagement.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, before we see anything. We work under a B2B contract from an EU company and we are used to enterprise procurement.
